When you have a four-wheel drive vehicle, you also have a transfer case that sits right behind your transmission. Working together, the transmission and transfer case send out power to your wheels so that you can drive in four-wheel drive.

If the transfer case doesn't have enough fluid and the gears aren't moving well, your car isn't going to go into four-wheel drive easily. Head over to Tuttle-Click Ford if your car is showing signs of trouble, especially when you put your car into four-wheel drive. We will check the fluid levels and make sure your transfer box is working correctly.

Your transfer box should be checked every time you go for service and get an oil change. If you haul heavy objects frequently and use your four-wheel drive all the time, bring your car in between oil changes to make sure the transfer box has enough fluid.
